A Quick New mndocs Release

We updated the forms today but there is not a whole lot to report, other than we’ve done some often unseen background tweaking and renovating, particularly with the way you purchase and update your forms. Check it out by updating your forms now at this link (you’ll need to sign in as an MSBA member and then choose “Go” for mndocs, then choose “Update”). Here’s a screenshot of what the new main purchase and update page looks like (though there is also an option for MSBA members to request a free trial of mndocs):

A tweak worth mentioning in this release is one that simplifies the completion of a probate Inventory. Previously, we got all automagical on you and allowed you to pick a personal representative (who normally completes the form) from a list of people. That really wasn’t necessary, given the form just needed a name. So, we simplified it and it now asks only for the name of the person or persons completing the form, which you would type in. We figured why complicate the form when you don’t need to? Here’s a screenshot of the new dialogue and where you would enter the name of the person completing the form (click on the image to enlarge):

Gregory Luce - Greg is the Practice Development Director at the Minnesota State Bar Association, where he oversees development of the association's various member-related online services, including practicelaw, mnfindalawyer, Fastcase, mypractice, and mndocs. A 1993 graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Law, he has been an attorney in private practice, a solo practitioner, and a staff attorney for Legal Aid. From 1999 to 2005, he was the Executive Director of Project 504, a tenant advocacy organization. He lives in South Minneapolis with his wife and two boys.
